    Material: 100% Wool

This Cap is crafted using the ancient textile technique of naalbinding, which predates both knitting and crochet. This cap, made from 100% wool, reflects the artistry and craftsmanship of Viking, Norse, Anglo-Saxon, Slav, and Rus cultures, providing an authentic, historically accurate piece for your medieval ensemble. Available in grey and blue, this cap combines warmth, durability, and historical depth, making it a versatile addition to any reenactment wardrobe.

Naalbinding is a unique needlework technique involving looping and knotting yarn with a single needle. Unlike knitting, naalbinding uses short lengths of wool, which are joined as the cap progresses. This method creates a dense, knot-based structure that doesn’t unravel if cut, offering excellent insulation and resilience—qualities highly valued by Viking-age societies facing harsh northern climates.

Historically, naalbinding was used to make durable, warm garments like mittens, socks, and caps, ideal for warriors, sailors, and adventurers needing robust headgear. The snug fit of this naalbound cap ensures warmth in cold weather, providing an extra layer of comfort for reenactors portraying Viking warriors, Norse sailors, or medieval travelers at LARP, SCA, and historical events. Each cap honors the resourcefulness and artisanal heritage of early medieval societies, adding an unmatched authenticity to your attire.

Available in one size, the construction allows for a flexibile fit, as a practical yet historical choice for anyone looking to bring the Viking and medieval eras to life.

    Care Instructions:

Washing: Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent to preserve the wool's integrity.

Drying: Lay flat to air dry, avoiding direct sunlight to maintain the color.

Ironing:Not required, though you can use steam to smooth out wrinkles.

Spot Cleaning: Dab gently with a damp cloth and mild detergent to clean stains.

Complete your Viking kit with the Naalbinding Woolen Cap for a truly authentic historical experience
